Title: Lake Margrethe Crawford county
Post by: Fishondog on Jan 02, 2008, 09:20 AM
ice 10-12 in, water crystal clear, went out for a few hours sun, bite was light.  1 eye, 1 pike, 1 small perch  but seen a dozen or more eyes through the hole in the hardtop just like looking in the aquarium in 14ft of water off eagle point. Seen some big eyes:yikes: but will have to wait till next time.

i have heard that lake margrethe does have a good walleye population.  wouldn't mind heading up for a 4 day weekend and hit higgins and margrethe.  if the weather can every just stay cold.  extended forecast is showing 40's starting sunday through thursday!

It is definitely worth it if you want walleye.  The DNR planted a fair number of them in 2002.  If you like to catch pike and muskie, it's a good lake for those too.
