Me too! Go Broncos! I'm itching to get back there. Howsabout the 2nd weekend in feb?
-
Second week in Feb should give plenty of time.
Any votes on lakes? Both Gull and Long are good. More steady action on Long, but much bigger pike in Gull.
-
let me know when and i will go
-
lets do the second week in feb with a 5 dollar buy in now we need a vote for a lake, long or gull
-
are there any logistical differences i.e. parking?
We could smelt fish gull after dark also, for those that are interested. Gull would also be closer for those coming from the east/north east.
-
witch long the one in berry co.by bristol Lk
-
no, in portage, south of kzoo.
-
let me know i will still go
-
Count me in

My vote is Gull. There's a lot more room to fish, park, etc.
How does Feb. 14th sound to everyone?
-

hey tank, just to be clear what long lake are you talking about. theres more than one.
-
long lake in the kzoo area but it is going to be at gull lake i dont know much about gull so the guys who do can pick the meeting spot and the price
-
lets go guys the more people the bigger the cash i talked with some sponsors for next yr that would like to pitch in it is going to get bigger northland tackle, eskimo, and planet powersports are set to help out next yr so lets make the most of it.
-
This tourny is sounding better and better every day I check it! Im excited
-
35 - 40
-
i counted 15 that showed interest in the thread...
-
Ill possiable have a few other friends that might want in on this tourney
-
I could probably get at least one more guy in.
David
-
i will have at least 2-3 we are going to have to figure out north or south end i think the north end has bigger pike
-
does spearing count
-
someone going to send something out with some times and places to meet sometime in the near future.
-
Count me in and at least four other guys. Gull is a great place to have a pike tourny because i know of a guy that has been catching 15-20 keepers a day out there. He's been just sorting through them releasing smaller fish and the females, but my point is you will be busy with flags all day long. The boat launch on the north end might be big enough to meet at?
-
is the north froze up good I want to get out and do a little practice
-
I guess I'm going to have to count myself in also. Looks like im going to have to pull the winning fish out of my small 6 inch holes. Didn't plan to do any pike fishing while at school, but this sounds like a fun time, maybe Ill have to grab the power auger when I get back to the UP
-
I'm thinking $5 buy-in, hook & line only. The bat would be more convenient, but I plan on fishing the north end-most of you guys know where. ;D ;D ;D
As big as this is getting, I can't wait to see how big this gets next year!
Tank- I sent you a couple of pms a few days ago re prizes. Let me know what you think.
-
has anybody checked the north end
-
has anybody checked the north end
I might head over that way tomorrow and check it out long drive from here though
-
I can check it tomorrow on the way back from the morning outing...last I checked though it didn't look good, that was about a week and a half ago now though
-
Not just trying to hype it up, but I talked to my brother in law earlier and his buddies caught 18 between the three of them, each walked off the ice with their limit. One 14lb.er. I KNOW there are much bigger ones in there. He didnt know where on the lake, but using an unusual fish for bait. ::) ::) ::)
-
Just a little heads up to all. Please be advised there is only one public access open on the north end at the township park on Gull Lake. It's a great access and good fishing within walking distance of there. It's also very good for quads and snowmobiles. There's another park on the east side but I've not seen it open in the winter.
There's also 3 private accesses that I know of that, by the goodness of their heart, allow fishermen walk in access to the mid and south sections of the lake. Two of them are clearly marked with signs informing everyone where they allow fishermen to park. So please, please, please respect the property owners and adjacent owners wishes. If you park where you're not supposed to I guarantee you will be towed and ticketed.
I'm not trying to be a jerk but just letting you know. The landowners and police around there keep close tabs on things. If you park with a wheel on the road you'll be towed. If you cross a road with your quad they'll be waiting for you when you get back. If you don't park between sings, you're towed. That simple. If you see somebody parking where they're not supposed to you might want to inform them, too. I know because I've witnessed everything I've described.
Nothing ruins your day faster than a run in with the law.
But anyhow, good luck and good fishing to all.
-
There is a fire access that is public on the north east end that the smelt guys use. It's where Baseline road runs into Gull Lake. If you park on the other (east) side of Williams road you will be fine.
-
I did not make it out to check the north end today got a limit of gills in barry county instead yum
-
I heard the north end has 3-4" on it, i fished the bible conference today and did alright...4-6" on it the north end also now has an automatic gate at it so it has a mandatory 5 dollar charge to park
