O.K., with the first trip quickly approaching, I dug out my ice fishing gear and after reading alot of good advice on this board I thought I'd better check my equipment and make sure I have the right stuff. I bought most of my stuff last year and this is only my 2nd year of ice fishing so I could not remember any of the type of line, leaders etc.. that I bought last year.
My tipup line is a 20lb braided black vinyl coated line that is 25 yards long. My leaders are 6" and 12" steel leaders and I have a #12 treble hook.
Does this setup sound o.k.? I know I have read many times on different parts of this board that some guys use 100-200 yards of line??? It does not even look like my spool on my tip up would hold that much line??
Am I missing something?
