Does Van Ettan Have Ice

We used to drive 3 1/2 hours from Monroe to fish on Van Ettan Lake.  Since their is no ice around here I am thinking about making the trip again.  How's the fishing?  How's the Ice.  Should I still fish across the street from the air force base at the public access.  How big are the perch?  Thanks in Advance!
