Post by: flik n dip on Feb 24, 2008, 05:03 PM
I live in Rhode Island but have been reading these threads for a while and am interested in trying it but I would like to know if it is legal first.

There is a book called Darkhouse Spearfishing Across North America by Jay Leitch.  In it he speared and/or reported on all the states that allow darkhouse spearfishing (except North Dakota).  Off the top of my head I think they were, Alaska, Montana, Minnesota, South Dakota, Michigan, Wisconsin.  The author did not spear in N.D. as he was a Minnesota resident, and you can't spear in N.D. if your state of residency does not allow non-residents to spear.

I'm almost positive that you can't spear in Rhode Island cause I just did a search and nothing came up, SORRY but you will have to take a trip. Hey you should come to Michigan
