What are others opinion on jigging?
« on: Jan 21, 2007, 03:33 PM »
I jig very rarely. Yes, rarely. I usually have a minnow on, and when letting the minnow swim around, suspended about 6-12 inches from the bottom, I find that the minnows doing my work for me. I have been using a silver Swedish Pimple with an orange stripe on it, tipped with a minnow, and have good results. I sit my rig on the floor and watch my bobbers, anyone else do this?

If i have live minnows i rarely jig, seems you don't really acomplish anything except killing or losing your minnow and i think its a lot more natural for a minnow to be sitting there swimming a bit rather than being jerked up and down.
Theres only 3 seasons..open water, hunting and icefishing!

I jig a minnow, but I have them hooked usually but the head or double hooked so the sit upright on the hook. This is why I jig cause usually when I hook them it kills them. If I am using a straight hook and I hook the minnow through the tail or something then I put the rod on a rocker board and leave it alone.
