ring or no ring

just wondering everyones opinion on the snap ring with sweedish pimples. seems if not used and tied directly line usualy breaks where the knot is when i get a strike. didn't know if i should try a different type of knot. thanks .    :'(

If it's breaking at the knot you need to do something differently. What knot are you using? What type of line? Foro snaps easier then mono.

Oh...And use a ring or tie a loop with jigging spoons. Tying directly to the spoon retards the action on the fall.

I always add a split ring if the spoons don't come with one. I don't have a problem with my knots breaking when I tied directly but they would slip on me. With the ring this never happens and the action is 100% better!

I agree, I always add a split ring if it's not there. Much better action and the knots seem to hold better.

I TAKE OFF THE SPLIT RING AND USE A SMALL BLACK SNAP SWIVEL. WORKS GREAT AND EAISIER TO CHANGE LURES.

RING...with barrel swivel...period.

I use the snap swivel without the ring. Works for me.
