whats your favorite type of bait for jigging for bluegills? i know that they will pretty much eat anything you throw at them but i was wondering which works the best.

Depends on what they want on that particular day.  Sometimes its mealys other days it is mousies other it spikes then there are the days they dont care and you can put anything in front of them and they will eat it.  I myself mostly use a waxies.

I have pretty good luck with mousies, waxies & spikes in that order. Who knows? Guess it depends what kind of bugs are present and active where your fishing.

I find that spikes work best for me. They stay on the hook better and if you give them a squeeze they milk up the water and the fish go wild.

I like spikes as well, though I usually use waxworms on at least one rig. Also, I get far less loss of bait with the spikes.

Yeah, when their hitting spikes or mousies you can really fill a limit because the bait loss is minimal. But..., sometimes they just do not want them. I guess it depends how many fish per bait change you try to get. When I catch two or three fish I put fresh bait on anyway but don't like it "swiped". Maybe we could tuffin up the waxies somehow. :D

Usually have both waxies and spikes (like the red ones if I can get 'em) let the fish make up their mind, if they show no preference it's spikes they're tougher 'specially if there's any of dem little bait stealers around.
