Willow Slough
« on: Feb 08, 2018, 09:18 AM »
People are out fishing on precarious ice. DNR does not recommend people go on lake, fish at your own risk. Not me, gonna wait a couple more days but this snow isn't gonna help conditions. Be Safe, Gentleman. Don't know about the bite.

Property mgr opened the lake today as it is froze over and goose hunting is basically done for the year. Called HQ today"Lots of snow and slush."  No report on the ice condition other than "not too good"

Yeah that can't be good last I heard they moved all of our snow amounts for our area up in the 8 to 12 range and they extended it into Saturday it's definitely going to put a Hurtin on that ice

The gate is unlocked to the hill. No one fishing the front area now. A few inches of snow was reported. GOOD LUCK

My dad and I will be out in the morning.  Gonna try mormon hill or filbert lane depending on parking and shoreline access conditions.

I was out in the back Sunday. There is a lot of water under the snow. With only four inches of ice. Lots of weight on the ice. The next few days things could get dicey quick when the temps come up. Shore line is fine after hundred yards u start hitting the water on top of ice. Good luck I believe this is the finally few days ice fishing at the slough.

Out today and knock on my wooden head ice holding up. Heading out one more time in the a.m. before the rain hits. More than likely be the end of the season for this old man! Fish are biting super light, but they are biting if u work at it.
