Open water - fly in trips planned?
« on: Mar 28, 2018, 10:48 AM »
Sorry if off topic but fat lady is singing in terms of ice fishing. Anyone doing a fly in or boat in fishing trip this spring/summer?
Care to post what you targeting, have you been there before etc? We do a fly/boat in about every other year and if you have time, small
group Canada is cheap considering the US vs CA currency exchange. We fished NW Ontario last spring amazing walleye and pike.

Man, Canada has so much to offer. There are lots of untapped lakes--a fisherman's dream. That would be an amazing trip.  :woot:

Last years fly in 9 days, full day 20 hour non stop drive there and back. Week in camp
depart North of Geraldton Ontario out of Cordingly lake. Lakes are  40-100 miles
North of Cordingly. Group of 4 or more gets best pricing. Google Nakina Ontario outfitters
cost per man was $900+ Canadian or little over $700 US. Price includes
a rustic, clean camp 2 men per boat 14-16 footers with 9.9hp, propane freezer, hot shower, all the fuel
you can use fishing from 5 am till 11pm. Many of the camps are on lakes over 1000 acres.
Primarily walleye and pike fishing.  51st parallel days are long. Fishing is real good.
There are about 8 outfitters operating out of Nakina. I will not mention who our outfitter is.
I have no financial stake in this.

Not a fly in trip, but for my high school graduation present, Crayfish2 and I will be spending a week at Brennan Harbour Resort in Spanish, ON. It's located on the shores of the Whalesback Channel, which is a part of Lake Huron. It's known for Walleye, Pike, Smallmouth Bass, and Musky fishing! Should be a blast!!!  ;D  Heading out for 4th of July week, two weeks after I graduate. I Can't wait. Hopefully I'll have plenty of stories for you all about our adventures.
Perch bait- a small minnow that can have big results in the ice fishing game.  :icefish:
