It wasn't frozen over last weekend, but looked like it was on Tuesday. Someone had gone out and chipped a few small holes by the dam, it didn't look to be overly thick yet. I'd probably give it another week.

I was there today.  2-4 inches this morning and melting fast.  The fishing was very slow.  My biggest perch was almost 6 inches.  I think I'll try somewhere farther north in the morning.  Great to get out on the ice again!  Tight lines!

It's fishable, plenty of ice to fish. I'd guess it will probably be a slow bit on Saturday with the rain expected tomorrow though.

I might poke out there Saturday morning if the weather looks ok, because it’s definitely close.

6-7" of solid black ice, with little to no action. I have a feeling the water is pretty stirred up. With the temps dropping, it ought to be in fantastic shape in a day or two.

I saw someone hiking right down the middle toward the north end when I was leaving, I'd bet it was probably that guy. The southern half is very fishable.

I can confirm that someone fell through colchester today. And yes it was towards the northern half.

Was there fishing yesterday. Seemed like a bit of confusion all around... but from what the firefighters and witnesses told us, I think the person fell through on the far eastern edge, but definitely the southern side, not the northern!

There is a stream and warm springs over there.  Dangerous spot.  Glad they made it out ok.

Has anyone been out there in the last day or so? My niece has been dying to fish and I’d love to take her out if the the ice is safe this weekend

It was in good shape Monday, I have to think by Saturday it will be in great shape. Whether or not the Pike want to play is another matter.

is there a lot of snow on the ice?

There was a decent amount.. Probably 6" bit there is a slushy layer between the snow and ice which makes walking a little more difficult..
