Hali's again...

After reading multiple good things about these here, I picked up half a dozen and I too have been slaying the perch with them. My question is does anyone use them for anything other than perch??

I use them for everything [ bass, trout, perch, and all other pan fish]. I like to tip with a med shinner or chub at times and actively jig or dead stick. The chain seems to allow for nice action.

I was going to pick a few Hali master spoons up one of these days and the tackle shop I visited had firetiger, green/tiger glow, yellow/tiger glow, gold/green, silver/yellow and blue/red glow.
What color from above would you recommend as the best multi species color.
How strong are the Hali chains, and does the colored chains really make that much of a difference?

If we are talking Hali with the single hook dropper, I find the hook to be junk it breaks and bends under slighht pressure, and I replace it with a the treble dropper they sell seperately.
As for colours, I sue the closest colour to perch, as well as a white bodied one with blue and pink around the eye.

The Hali....where do I begin,
I have caught a number of species on the Hali, from the tiny smelt to the mighty lake trout, and many others.
o.k maybe not the right jig for every application, but it is a great lure to seek out whats on the bite. Especially when you can play with the chain and hook selection for different presentations.

Depends on the day. Buy a variety. Usaully the larger ones throw more flash in the water and mark better on the flashers.
One should check for color more than size.
Have increase the amount I have several times over in the last 2-3 years. Now I have a small tackle box full of spoons, halis, pimples and other style lures like this.

Mostly perch here. I've caught a few bluegills on it, and one trout. The trout was accidental, while exploring for perch. Oh, and one small walleye. We don't have too many gill around home, but I bet it works alright for them too.
