What do you use the frozen herring for?

They are good to use for pike. Need to thaw them out first. That being said, not many pike left down here  :P

Yeah it makes for slower fishing vs. using live shiners but usually dead baits attract the bigger ones. And I have too actually. Some places out there have been blown up/ hit hard over the years but theres still some hidden gems too

I've had good luck with Runnings Bait last season. Haven't bought a shiner this year but...

Bob's Bait and tackle in Dayville is open early and has shiners as well. Not RI but right over the line.

Has anyone been to Runnings in Putnam during this ice season? I have a summer camp near there and would often go for bait. During the fall, something happened to their filter system (or they just stopped cleaning it), as the water always stunk and the tanks were always full of dead fish. I actually stopped going there. Just wondering if they have fixed the issue?

I'm literally 5 minutes from that Runnings If I get a chance I'll take a run over and update. Been getting bait at Bobs down in Dayville Ct. Has had a great stock and plenty of it. open at 7 a.m.
