Oh man those are some great fish - congrats....

Just got my Nils Auger back from sharpening and worked great cutting holes but mostly only let small perch through

True that I've been fishing there since I was 13 I'm 62. There are those who have a degree of respect for the ice sport and some who just don't. If people rape that place now cause of its conditions that's on the people who are fishing it. I caught a 24lber out of that place 10 years ago and also put that bmf back too. I didn't have a tape measure or any way to figure out this fish what do you guys think?

How big? Certainly big enough, well done!

Truth be told, I don’t think you’ll be surrounded by people the next time you’re there simply because you posted these pics here and a few people might recognize the location.

I think it’s hilarious that some say to “black out the background” when taking a picture of a nice fish. The odds of that fish being caught in the exact same place is very low.  Unless a person is trespassing on your private lake or pond- you have no right to tell someone to “blackout the background”.
Most who are posting pictures on this site are genuinely just happy to get out to enjoy the time outdoors.  Catching a nice fish is a bonus.  Let’s face it- very few fisherman on this site are on the Bassmaster’s tour or making any $$ fishing.  AND there are no “secret spots” - for anyone who has internet access.  however it’s nice to see those bigger fish put back in the hole for someone else to have a chance to enjoy.

If you are reading this- There are NO SECRET SPOTS! ( period) # truth.

Very nice fish right there. No need to blur out the spot cause it's Pike fishing! May not get a flag there the rest of the month.

Some quality fish there Pikeasoris, I dream of catching pike like that. Your experience shows. Glad to see someone shares the same respect for a trophy like that and letting her swim another day. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Thanks guys and hope you all have a great season. I'm going out here in Ct one more time or so and then I'm off to Maine for a while to fish and hopefully do some sledding too. Be Safe

We're In Hartland Maine on Great Moose Pond. Moosehead lake is an hour and a half away to Greenville. Love the trais up there it's like your in another world that's where I get my juice. Life is short never thought I'd say that so get out there while you still can.

We have a place on Moosehead, a few miles north of town. It's a great area. Family camp is on a lake near Millinocket so we head over there from time to time. For wide open sledding, The County is the place I want to go, but I'm waiting for a new sled to be delivered. Like everything it's behind schedule. Plus the ice is getting good local so, I think we'll wait another week or two before heading up. Walter needs my attention here.

Funny because in a subsequent post you said you were headed to "the hollow"  I wonder if thats just a coincidence...

Did you just complete the spot burn by connecting a name to the photos? :o

Great catch and a day to remember!!! Thanks for sharing.  I wish some more people would be open to sharing how they did rather than expressing their frustration for not tipping your success.....Pike fishing is hit it miss all the time. I personally don’t worried about the rookie want to be’s giving a hard time about sharing a great day on the Ice!  I’ve experienced this myself on this site.  Keep it up!

I will be sharing my success and not so successful trips too when I get our for the first time later this week.

“Spot Burn” is for those who haven’t found a spot yet.  That term is for the jealous ones.

I hope your next trip is just as good!

The people that don't get it either haven't been doing it long enough for it to happen to them, or don't really care about CATCHING fish. I don't think we can change their minds. Most people have to learn things the hard way.

I will never forget the feeling of pulling into the Oxbow last year and realizing that there was not even an open spot on the ice to put 5 tips. Not a spot burn. Big place. No secret.

I could not believe the amount of people on the ice. Turned around and left.
