Male to female ratio

Out yesterday  5 nice perch  usually all female  but today 3 males and they bit fast and hard no nibbling ??????

A few years ago, I was with a group fishing in North Dakota. We ended the day with 40 perch and while cleaning them there were only 2 that were males

They seem to school by size and sex most of the winter. I thought there were just few males, than had a day with 15 males/2 females

I fillet 181 perch only 7 were males

With perch, I seem to catch more females too.
