I was up on the south end by the marina yesterday. Didn't do much, really slow day. Plenty of guys out  all over the ice. Seemed like ice  was in good shape everywhere. Had pretty much 5 - 8 " where I drilled. Mostly 5 clear black and rest frozen slush.

I've never fished it but I'm Looking at the topo map now -  I'm guessing the north end is where to head first? Does the southern end freeze over?

I'm a newbie to the hardwater fishing scene! I was going to try pymy Saturday morning.  Does anyone know how thick the ice is ? We have had a few cold nights since the heatwave and rain. Would anyone be willing to steer me in the right direction on where to start?
I'll take a BAD day of fishing over a good day at work!

I am curious myself about Pymatuning also. Was thinking about heading up Saturday. Anybody had ice reports? Or suggestion where to go?

It is a first hour light bite and last 2 hours of light fishing. Welcome inn or the sunken island up from the Jamestown launch. Have at it. Too picky for this guy

Fished around Jamestown launch yesterday (2/8). Flasher lit up like a Christmas tree, shad I think, caught 3 two inchers.  Moved in front of marina in 8 to 14 ft, dinks.
