From what was said on WMUR it is a possible fatality. They weren't sure of the condition of the patient after spending hrs. in the water. Very sad.

QuoteReply From UL: Person found after falling through ice on Lake Nubanusit

HANCOCK – A 36-year-old man was under water for one hour after falling through ice Friday night while snowmobiling on Nubanusit Lake, according to Maj. Kevin J. Jordan of the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department.

Jordan said the man, whose name was not available, was taken to Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough.

“Because it was a cold-water incident, you attempt resuscitation for a longer period of time,” Jordan said.

Jordan said the man was among four men who went through the ice at about 5 p.m. Friday as they were preparing to leave the lake after ice fishing. The three others crawled out of the ice before rescue crews arrived.

That lake is always sketchy during the first part of the season!  From and EMT's perspective though, you are not dead until you are warm and dead.

Ice fisherman in NH dies

HANCOCK, N.H. (AP) -- An ice fisherman has died after a snowmobile he was riding fell through the ice on Lake Nubanusit in Hancock.

The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department said emergency workers received a call from John Krieger of Milford about 5 p.m. who said his three companions fell through the ice while heading home on snowmobiles and one of them remained missing.

Divers found 35-year-old Willie Miles and got him out of the water about 7:20 p.m., but were not able to revive him.

just read this concord monitor online. i'm sad for the his friends that were with him, and his family. I am going to pray for them.
such a shame.

Damn, this is terrible.   I had such high hopes when I heard they transported him to the hospital.  Didn't realize he had been under water for two hours.  Prayers go out to his friends and family.

terrible news...it may sound outrageous, but maybe the state should have a certain date when snowmobiles can be operated on the ice, just a thought, but it is something that would never happen.  it could help to avoid situations like these.  just need good judgment.  it is really bad news.

very sad...some good guy enjoying the outdoors & doing something so simple...just like the rest of us. heart breaking. You know I don't have a snowmobile so I don't worry as much about conditions. But I was planning on bringing my boy out this weekend for the first time this year ...but on my way off the ice friday, I went through a weakened spot close to shore where I was fishing.  I bounced right out but it spooked me & I told my wife when I got home that I want to wait a couple more weeks for things to really lock up before I go with kids. I wish for a safe season for all & prayers go out to the victim family

...maybe the state should have a certain date when snowmobiles can be operated on the ice...

Would be great but I don't ever see that happening because then they would have liability issues posting such information. Some lakes do have warnings but sad to say that this is the one that gets all of our attention.

Sad to see this and feel bad for them. Terrible thing to have happen. My sympathies to the family.
