Pike on Slim Jims

As I was digging thru the the freezer for some smelt today I found some old slim jims and thought what the heck ill try them.  So I took them down to the cannonball river and got my tip-ups ready.  I set the depth and hooked half the slim jim on the quick strike rig.  as i dropped it down the hole i wanted to see what it looked like down there, about 3 seconds of watching a pike came in and hit it a few times and finally took the bait.  I ended up missing the fish.  I then caught one on the set up and had one other bite on it.  I was pretty happy with that.

yeah pretty much.  we had them made out of some deer we got,  i guess this pack must have been in the back of the freezer it was bad stuff.  i took the plastic case off and split the slim jim in half the both ways.
