Rainbow bite pre spawn?

Correct me if I'm wrong but rainbows spawn in the early, early spring. That said what should or do you typically see with bows at this time of year. Are they inactive or very active in pre spawn ???

If you know they spawn in a body of water you are fishing they will definately be on the bite, but thats just it there isn't a lot of water I know of where they take hold and have good enviroment for them to do this. My guess would be to look for substantial inlets that they would stage off of and bulk up before they would migrate up stream, it only stands to reason they do it in lake ontario and some of the finger lakes.
