smelly jelly
« on: Mar 20, 2004, 06:01 PM »
I went fishing a few weeks ago for lakers and did not catch anything. There was another guy there and he was fishing with sucker meat that he had put smelly jelly on the night before. Does anyone else do this, and does it realy help for catching lakers? The guy did not catch any that day but in days past he sait he has knock them dead with that smelly jelly.

Great stuff,  Use it for everything, herring is best followed by baitfish formula.

Berkely has a new line of trout dips yhat work really well. The gel is thick and works well with live bait. It comes in corn, garlic. and roe flavors.

Yeah, i love this stuff. It also seems to help when jigging with spoons especially if you are not able to tip them with live bait.

I've also seen a few people dip their trebles in the stuff when pier or jetty fising for salmonids.  They hooked up when no one else did.

In colorado we cannot tip with this stuff if bait is not legal in the area :'(
if anybody from michigan will help me out with the lakes and stuff up here I'd really appreciate it since I'm new to the area.

I would use sucker, carp, anchovy, or other baitfish meat to tip my laker jigs or any jigs with before I would use this stuff. However it works well to place on the sucker or baitfish meat. The liquid scents are great, smell very strong and natural. Do they make a big difference in catch rates? Not really from my experiences. Where were you fishing for lakers Raleigh?
