Re-opening old holes with Nils powerpoint

Just curious if this is possible with the powerpoint or if its something that could damage the blades?  I have never tried it and don't want to risk damaging anything.  Anybody have any experience with this?  Have only had it out on the ice once.

I would never open old holes with any auger, mainly because any junk, dirt, sand etc blowing across the lake is going to collect in those depressions.

The holes would be in our house under lock and key.  Dirt and junk would not be a problem.

AAHHH I see, in your case I would do it if it were mine especially with the curved blades and the power point that keeps the auger centered.  Like I said my biggest reason for not doing it would be the blade ruining junk that can collect in the holes but it doesn't sound like you would have that problem.

Have done it dont recomend it, if you need an auger for reopening holes in a house get a chipper style....

Reopened some today with my jiffy stealth was like drilling a new hole no jumping around like the old sm lazer, definately use chipper style for that. Jiffy rules the chipper blade market.

i would do it with my regular blade nils with the hand auger, but not my powerpoint

  I open old holes in my perm shack with the Nils.  Haven't had to adjust a blade from doing so.
  Works good, but yeah be sure there isn't dirt or junk in the hole.
