Title: Sourcing Anchovies
Post by: Husker95 on Nov 05, 2018, 12:18 PM
Anyone know of  a good place to buy large frozen anchovies online?  I haven't found anything yet after googling around and some friends and I are looking at laying in a supply for pike fishing this year.  Thanks!

If you have one around, check your local International Mart.

Pizza Hut?

...or your local grocery store (canned)? But not knowing what you're using them for... :-\

We like to use them for tip-up bait for Pike.  Frozen suckers are good but they are expensive and can be hard to find in the size you want.  I used to use smelt which are easy to find but they don't work as well.  Worked great in Nebraska, but not so much here.

Thinking again...brine from package of anchovies, sardines,  kippers,  etc. mixed with the water in a minnow bucket of suckers and shiners.   ???
