I fished Carmi last saterday night, Had a 8 inch hole fit my 5 gallon pail by 10:30pm, had to redrill the shack hole and the tip up holes as they were going to fall through the 13inches of ice that was melting into giant holes.

I was on a lake here in the mid west yesterday and someone had drilled 5 ten inch holes right next to each other. I watched it open up into a truck eating hole!!!! :o

Going to be a minefield tomorrow when we get a skim over those holes and the 4-8" of snow that is forecasted. Then it's going to rain a bunch more and be a slushy mess. Actually not that sad I'll be out of town this weekend.

I have time off starting March 5th... The ice needs to hold on, at least until then. After that my next block of time off comes in May, so that'll be the end of my major ice fishing outings any way.
