7-8 hour drive?  Are you sure?  I've been all over Vermont in under 4 hours.

A bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work!!

im going to save you alot of time effort and money. don't bother making that long ass trip.  if you want perch all day. there are lakes that are now and lakes that are used to be. thats a used to be. fish the conn river if you want monster gators

what part of the conn. river are you refering to? I have fished the lower hinsdale nh ,brattleboro vt  end for 35 years and caught more than my share of monster gaters, but this end of the conn. is a used to be for sure.

same story down our way. you could always catch a few pike a day, with one or two over 30". these days if you catch one pike of any size in three or four weekends your lucky. If you catch one over 30" all winter, you are really lucky. Not sure what the reason is, the bait fish still show up in the set backs, but the pike don't show up in great numbers like they used to.
