Title: new toy
Post by: Roccus on Jan 22, 2020, 07:28 PM
We never have enough  toys... my wife  took advantage of my Amazon account,  I had been poking around at under water cameras, as if 3 different fish finders ain't enough.(  she doesn't know how many I actually have) . She took a look at their "you might like this" suggestion  and bought me the Eyoyo 9"  camera, she also bought me a new helmet with a heated shield.. happy birthday  to  me (  it's not.until next month but she wanted me to.have it for the derby.).
I'll give a report on it as I use it..

FWIW, I've used that Allen Archer reel a few times, but I've not used it enough for an honest critique.so far I like it alot.

I've heard some ok initial reviews of the Eyoyo camera. Quite affordable. I was actually thinking of picking one up just for S's + G's, as I have never used an underwater cam.
I think I remember Tippin doing a little review of an Eyoyo he tried last year too. Sounded decent.
Look forward to hearing what you think Joe.
And yes, youve got a keeper for sure
 ;D

BTW. Did you order the 360° pan with DVR model, or just the regular 9"? Remember seeing there's a few different options.

Congrats Joe. I've got a 7" eyoyo mounted in my bayrunner, no problems with it other than most of the waters I fish being stained. The biggest help it gives me is learning lure movement and what happens 20 feet below the rod tip.

I've got an older camera. I used it quite a bit when I had my bob house. It was helpful in seeing how different fish were reacting to my offerings. Honest truth though, I spent way too much time in one spot in the bob house. It was too much of a pain in the ass to drill a hole, drop the camera down look, pull it back up and keep moving.
If it's cold and windy and you just want to sit in one spot and stay warm, they're great. Watching that laker swim in from the shadows is pretty cool. If you're sitting in the same spot it can be a long wait sometimes. Watching them examine your offering gets the blood pumping. You try a little action and poof, all you see is silt. Sometimes you're on and sometimes he/she's gone.
If you need to keep kids occupied, they can be really helpful or if your looking for that specific structure.

My "kid" which is the youngest of 4 turned 40 last December...he can occupy himself.

I have a plan on how I'm going to use it...it'' be more for exploring than fishing, my Marcum flasher provides me with all the information I need when jigging..

As Denny said.. the sister is a no go... nothing like my wife, actually complete opposite... lives in a assisted housing facility in new jersey, and has more health problems than a  hospital ward.

I actually have a very old black and white camera that I bought for a buck at a flea market... it works I just find the 3" screen extremely annoying... I think I've used it twice...

You're very fortunate yourself in that dept, Denny!
That said, just cuz ya ordered, doesn't mean ya can't keep looking at the menu.
Congrats, Joe.
