We are halfway to the weekend.

Who's going out this week?

I'll be heading back up to Cascade. Can't wait...

I'm not sure which part of the lake I'll try this week but if anyone see's a tan gmc with a white trailer/goose decals on the side, it's me. Stop by and say hi.

I am headed to sugarloaf. I am waiting to hear word on how thick the ice is.... I am thinking snowmobiles may be ok at this point.... Anyone have any reports on ice thickness at Sugarloaf?

I was there last weekend and there were ATVs all over. I did talk to an older gentleman who claims he partially broke through with his snowmobile and was lucky to get out. He came from the north somewhere, not the sugar loaf ramp.

For the most part, the ice was 6-10 inches, depending where we drilled.

I think we r headed up to Cascade to try are hand at some more of the elusive jumbo perch of Cascade Lake. If not there Magic reservoir sounds like it is fishing good right now. Either which way it beats the hell out of staying in town!! Safe trips this weekend everyone.

I'll be at sugarloaf with Shack Attack 66 this weekend...just not sure which day yet. Look forward to seeing some of you guys out there. Good luck this weekend no matter where you go!

Correction I did not realize the youth fishing day was this weekend I will be volunteering at Horsethief with the family in tow. We are very excited and looking forward to helping families have an enjoyable ice fishing trip.

Speaking of the kids event this weekend, has anyone been on Horsethief recently? I assume the ice is fine, but how is the fishing? Seemed like last year it was slow at first and picked up as the season went on.

Ice shouldnt be a problem down this way. I just got an update from our Air Force weather folks and we are in for a fridged time for the forseeable future.

Looks like you were not kidding. Single digit lows and only highs of 20"s tomorrow through middle next week.

Maybe Lucky Peak and Brownlee next?

Headed back up to Magic this weekend with some family. Been doing real well so why quit now? Broke through the ice last week but luckly it was shallow. First time breaking through. Quite the experience.

Chief, give me a call. I'm already up (since 5 AM) and getting my gear ready to go. I'm probably headed to CJ and hoping that there's some good ice near Cottonwood, otherwise I'll head over to Cove Arm.

The wife and I fished Halverson Lake yesterday and we along with two other guys who were fishing there, all got skunked. Ice was pretty good, about 6 - 7 inches of mixed, mostly clear grey ice, but there were plenty of cracks all over and the ice was talking all day. But overall it was a good day just to be out on the ice!
