Ditto.   I have a pair of those thirty dollar baffin boots I wear when its sloppy.  Plenty warm enough, water is never an issue.

I wear the Ranger boots from Reny's. They cost $45.00 and have a foam insert that wick the water away from the feet. I've been out in sub-zero weather with them and my feet stay warm. I also use wool stockings. Another good thing about the boot is that they are high enough so that the auger shavings don't get your legs wet. I've had my for four years and they are still in great shape. I was going to buy another pair for a spare. They'll be on sale pretty quick.

I've used sno seal and mink oil both with good results.  The silicon stuff is no good.
