Best are the wind forecasts for the lake. 9 out of 10 the report says west wind yet it’s coming out of the NE corner until mid to late morning.
Worms in the driveway few nights ago. Knocking out some spring interior lists now so I’ll be ready to roll.

Hey guys... This sucks.  I'm a CT native, I have a house booked in Constantia the first weekend in Feb, supposedly to come ice fish.  We usually go up north to Maine, but decided to try something different this year... Right now this is looking like not a great decision.   I've been holding out hope for a cold snap but the forecast is not giving me much hope that we'll have safe ice by then...ugh.

I for one don’t think I can watch one more utube video on icefishing. I hate to say it one more weekend like this and I’m busting back out the open water gear. Might wanna do the same sploke. Fishing the pier or somewhere else is better than not fishing at all. Hey ya never know. Still fairly early in the year. Just need one of them Arctic blasts to dip down for a bit 🤞🤞

the old girl is quite the tease! Where me and a couple buddy’s got out last weekend their fish finders were reading between 31-32 degrees. She’s ready to go. I’m sure your right. It wont hold

No bass boat trip today, one time in 27 years that I helped my wife with our business tax crap. Due to not having ice…..🤯 maybe I’ll grab some black sponge and a steelhead rod. 😁

All of You can blame me for losing the ice we had… I bought a new shack and auger this season. 😁 I knew it would come back to haunt me!!!🤦🏻

If we even get a month out of it… I’m taking that whole month off… the fish will pay!!! They have no clue what will hit them!!!🎣🕳️😁

KP, not your fault, it’s me. I just registered sled and trailer.

getting a sled registered is a rip in NYS if you just use it for fishing,,,,100bucks for one year and alot of the money goes to the trails that if just fish u never use...

Throughly agree!
You can save $25 if you join a snowmobile club first but what sense does that make for someone who just uses the sled on a lake and never uses a trail???
They should make the registration fee the same as an ATV (or less since you only use the snowmobile for a couple of months) and then require a separate sticker for those wanting to ride a trail.
That would be the logical and fair way to do it but will never happen due to the strong NYSSA snowmobile association that would lobby to oppose losing that free money.

All they have to do to separate the 2 is have different colored stickers , but again
This doesn’t surprise me how NY works , home to the empress of eye brows 😃

Subject came up about snowmobile registrations , trail VS ice
So the answer is yes to both as the brows run the state 😜

Filet this is illogical.  Would be nearly impossible to enforce.  Be careful what you wish for if NYS had to do something this complicated it would be so involved (environmental studies, etc. etc.}, the stickers would end up costing you $500 each! ;)

With different colored stickers really ? police seem to spot stickers on cars while moving , they change the color of your hunting and fishing license every year don’t they , and they manage to see a 1” sticker on a trailer , a bud just got a ticket for that 😉
