Even with upcoming colder temps I personally would not trust that ice. Hate to see it go but was a good season nonetheless. Great to see everyone’s posts this year, be smart and safe. Till next year....

I would say its over ice is moving and stacking up in place even if we get cold temps the wind can move it around and cause issues our FD have better things to do then try to get people off the ice, I know bridgeport FD had 2 calls today about guys out on ice that may need help getting in,,,  These guys are volunteers for FD with better things to do ,,,, after today its your own fault if you get in a bind out there

I had a good year on the lake and caught some good perch and only one walleye. Thanks guys that gave decent reports as to the conditions of how the ice was. Stay safe out there.
I live back in the woods you see

Had a decent season couldn’t get out as much cause of work. Prayers to anyone who ventured out today and got stuck out there. Don’t play with Mother Nature... it’s no joke. Never seen the lake lose all the ice that quick.  Have a great rest of the year fellers I’ll see you all back here next season👍!!

Got 20 perch off the east side of Lewis Point today. When I came back in around 4:30 the ice had opened up from the point and for a long way down the east shoreline. There was also a new pressure ridge around the point that I had to spud through to get to shore. Another guy was coming from the northwest and had to navigate around some open water and had to get off where I did. Plenty of solid ice away from shore but closer to shore lots of holes and cracks were opening.

Fished the beach today. Walked right on in AM took some navigating to get off around 2pm. Male eyes are working there way in anyway. Gonna be interesting tomorrow. Might take some driving around and parking lot checking but like previous posts said good ice once your out....... and if ya do get in trouble got nobody to blame but yourself.  My worst case scenario tomorrow is I’ll end up at a dinner somewhere lol. Only half hour trip for me in all honesty I wouldn’t chance it for much over an hour drive myself.  Stay safe all

its the same every year the ice is ok 100yrds or so out but shore line goes 1st but once the ice starts shifting cracks can open up all over in minutes,, and ice pulls away from shore, wind is brutal tonight...

Yeah for sure!!  What a tease. I remember this weekend last year open water fishing in front of the crazy clam. Could see giant ice burg out there couple hundred yards from shore. Would have paid a hundo for a ride out and back!! Lmao

Was talking to a guy who took a sled out yesterday. Said fine in morning, 5 hours later broke thru in a foot of water at shoreline trying to get back in. Told me he never saw ice deteriorate as fast as it did yesterday.

Lots of air in the ice , plus warm temps and add in the wind ,
I was out but not Oneida and lost a little over 4” yesterday
Soon it will be eating away top and bottom
 Be careful everyone

The ice moved quite a bit last night. It pushed in in some spots.

I didn’t see anyone else out though which is sort of surprising.

Be careful if you go. The cracks are opening and things are still shifting a bit.

If you sit around all day and do nothing your a bum, but if you sit in a boat all day or in a shanty and do nothing they call you a fisherman
