Hey Sandy Fisherman, there are several parks and boat launches on the lake that have a bit of parking.  South Shore Boat Launch, Chapman Park, Williams Park, Taft Bay Park, Godfrey Point State Boat Launch, North Bay (edge water), Sylvan Beach, Jewel State Fishing Access, and a few others.  Look at map to finds these spots.  Some will fill up with vehicles quickly when the fish are biting nearby.

Thanks everyone, and to the network of trustowrthy friends that gave me honest reports of Ice conditions. The lake froze uneven, thats the honest truth, there is some solid ice, maybe 20 percent of the lake total.

If you dont take precautions you are going to be in serious trouble.

Bruce, I love that pic man😎

New here to the oneida lake diehards page.   Just had to say awesome pic of the youngster!!  My main fishing partner is my son, a bit older at 15. Hoping to get out there maybe this weekend or next.  The reports of sketchy ice make me nervous as I dont know oneida but looking forward to trying to figure it out!

I’m in the same boat Mike. Been doing a lot of reading and driving around Oneida the last few weeks. Hopefully sooner than later

Went out late Saturday from south shore and had 4-5" everywhere I drilled. Have to imagine even better now. Bite for me was light but managed 10 perch and one keeper 'eye. All the perch came on live bait or pimple with buckeyes but the walleye came on waxies- ???

Walked out of Borio's this afternoon. Found 4-6" of good ice everywhere I drilled. Ended up with 10 nice perch. Nice day to fish.
I never could read no road map,
I don't know what the weather might do.
But hear that witch wind whining,
and see that dog star shinin',
I got a feeling there's no time to lose,
No time to lose!

Best bet is to contact one of the local bait shops.  Try App's or Lakeside Outfitters.  Also check out some previous year's posts for more detailed info.

Went to Lewis Point this afternoon 1:30 - 3:30, more of a recon mission. 1 Keeper eye in 27 fow that went back. Nephew and his buddy stuck it out for a couple more hours and BAM. 4 keeper eyes, about a dozen shorts, and 8 perch. Crossed the pressure crack to the east there but got across good. 5 inches of ice as most are reporting from what I can see here. Snow blowing off for the most part, but drifting up in others spots maybe up to 6" deep. Hard to say how much snow cover, walk 20' on bare ice then 20' through drifts, you know.
