was out from south shore launch today..........sled was fine but I would say wheelers might have an issue especially if you don't have chains.......closer to shore was the worst........main lake was 6" to 1.5' .........lots of drifting....fishing was slow......enough perch for a dinner tonight.....slush will be a problem soon

Well I bathed in skunk off and headed out in search of some eyes. Tried a new spot that I haven’t fished this year. Got lucky and ended up with a limit of beautiful 18 inch keepers. Marked quite a few fish but most of them were sluggish. A bunch of marks that I thought were perch but I couldn’t get them to bite. Like scout mentioned, 6-18” of snow. The sled had no problem but wheelers are iffy. Def gonna want chains. Only saw I think 4 other people out this evening and it looked like they were all running snowmobiles.

Walked off Lewis today. Ran into two ppl. The first guy in the parking lot going out on his quad and he was just full of doom and gloom. Pretty much telling me smitty sleds are a joke and how he walked out with a backpack yesterday and froze. So i guess I’ll go f myself with my smitty lol. The snow is no joke. Smitty or not, that drag is a real drag. About halfway out some nice dude named Dennis gave me a lift the rest of the way to my spot. Good looking out Dennis, if you’re on this site. Need more like you and less like the dude in the lot. Drag off was miserable. Took me a half hour to go the half mile. I caught 7 nice perch. No eyes. Ice was 17” in my holes and snow was 6”-1.5ft as previously stated. Tough day

PerchEyes

Fishing was terrible.  We stayed in big bay.  Lot of cocktails and good eats.  I don't care so much about the bite as I do just getting away and hanging out.  Will probably do it all over again next year.

Just came off the ice at Chapman Park. The walk out was actually just fine if you stay on the well worn snowmobile trail, much easier than I had anticipated. 4 wheelers should be just fine on the well worn paths, but if you wander into fresh snow, it could be pretty hard. Looks like a good weekend of ice fishing ahead! Bit was slow today, lookers lookers lookers... hope they have a change of heart tomorrow
