Morning all, 53° with patchy fog here.

IW - I had been working 40-42 hours a week the past several years. This is 50-55 a week now. Not terrible by any means, it just cuts into my afternoons a bit, especially with the 30 mile commute after.

mr.clean - it's a lot more than when I went, for sure. Cost me about $6000 a year. I just looked it up and the average cost per year for undergrads at the same school I went to is $21,000 per year now. 😬 My first priority is knocking out some debts I owe. Got into a LOT of debt the first few years after my kid was born.

Morning all,

Eddie.....beautiful fish

MrC....fingers crossed no one started the fire in the building on purpose  :nono:

IW.....good to hear the logs are almost done now, hope you have enough  :flex:

WS....thank you for posting Eddie's picture

H2L....the fish will still be there when you have time  ;)

Z....having kids has a way of depleting funds pretty quickly

Haven't seen any turkeys around here all summer until this week, 4 or 5 hens and all their little ones showed up under the bird feeder one day and have been hanging around ever since  ;D

Have a good day. Stay safe, stay healthy.

Good morning everyone

64 sticky degrees may see 80 on a few bank thermometers today.

mr.clean..I am always happy to help someone where I can. Nobody owes me anything, it was my pleasure to help Eddie.

IW..It's a good feeling putting the last piece on the splitter. Did you figure out if you were shorted ???

Eddie...Best of luck with the pour  I bet your granddaughter was pretty excited about the big fish. Hope you have a few more lunkers in your future

WW..Like Eddie, can't wait to see what you did with the berries  Our turkey population has been banner. I think it's safe to say we have somewhere close to 30 poults from 5-6 hens visiting daily. By far the most we have ever had.

Z..I missed where you got a pay increase...Congratulat ions

Not a lot going on today just a few errands. I am still waiting on my buddy about the big tree job. I told him if he looked at it in the next 3-4 days that was fine. I am hoping he is up for some climbing and will help me by the hour. If he isn't I will have to settle for a commission. Of course after I find out which way we are heading I still have to get it cleared with the owner and make sure he's fine with the price.

Hope you all have a good day  Stay safe and keep healthy.

Good Morning Everyone, 62* here this morning and sunny. No rain scheduled today. Yesterday’s test went well. Will hear in a couple of days the results. Took Mr Dickens to a lake we’ve been before and it was a good time till he got tangled in some fishing line. Had to cut it off him. We picked up a lot of line and disposed of it. My wife is home today. Jeep should be ready today.

I hope everyone has a great day and tight lines to those on the water.

Well another day at work, coworker called in sick so here comes some more OT.  Been warm here that last few days getting to the low 90's but the temps are slowly dropping.  Think we have the birthday party figured out for the fish fry for the last weekend of the month, right when I wanted to be on the mountain cutting trails and such for hunting this year.  Oh well sounds like Labor Day weekend is the weekend to go that direction.  Just was tired of walking over downed trees and heard more fell so would like some paths to actually walk on the ground and have a nice way in and out for us and the animals.  Well better get back to the grind and finish my day out.  have a great Thursday everyone.

Good evening ,warming up here high temperature today was 85 forecast calling for high in the low nineties tomorrow and through the weekend. We still need some rain. Latest polio news update the CDC now thinks the virus may have been in my area of NY. for a year. Since many people never get sick from the virus it's presence is hidden until someone does get infected which thankfully is a rare event. They have found traces of Polio in waste water samples taken this past April. CDC telling people to stay up to date on their vaccine shots.
Ice Wanderer to my knowledge electric service is still active to the building so in this case possibly an electrical short started the fire. It looks like the building has two sections with a possible fire wall in between as only the eastern end of the building seems to have been effected. Good to hear with your neighbors help you got the larger wood pieces split and just have a few logs left to process. may you end up with enough cords to make it through this Winter.
Eddie maybe seeing the mount and her picture on ice shanty will develop an interest in fishing with Kennidy. I think you made the right call in keeping the fish and having the mount comissioned. hope everything went smoothly with the concrete pour.
Hunts2long may you get the other things on your life schedule completed so you can get back out on the waters of GSL.
Wallyworld I'm keeping a watch for any story about the fire may have to talk with some of my neighbors and see what if any thing they have heard about the fire. Just a guess but I'm thinking the local turkeys'forage base is getting low so now that they have found your yard and bird feeder you will be seeing them daily.
Whopper Stopper i was joking about the jelly sampler. thank you once again for posting the photos . Beautiful northern pike from a body of water some have nick named the "Dead Sea" as catching fish is a struggle at times from the waters of Great Sacandaga. May you hear from your friend soon and the property owner agree to let him preform the work with your assistance. Sounds like word has gotten arounf d the local turkey flock that your yard is the place to find food and water.
Icefisher-45 good to read the test went weel may the results contain good news. Thank you to your wife and you for picking up and properly discarding any fishing line you found at the local lake. glad your getting the jeep back.
Zcm-82 my nephew went to Stevens Insistitute of Technology in New Jersey the cost of tuition/room-board went up by ten thousand dollars during his time at the college fro 63 thousand his freshmen year(2017-2018) to 73 thousand his final year oF 2019-2020 . by taking Summer courses at another college that Stevens accepted towards his total cerdits for graduation he completed his studies in three years saving himself and my Sister/BIL some Money. He also was able to get a scholarship which covered around half of the yearly college costs so he is lucky to have a lower college low debt. You have some time so work on getting your other debts paid off and then start putting money towards your son's college education.
Fish/hunt4ever good thing your employer has you to get things done may your coworker be back to work tomorrow or on Monday. Hopefully things will work out and you weill get some trails made and scouting done in your hunting area.

Those of us in the Northern United States have the rare chance to see the Northern Lights tonight due to a geomagnetic storm sadly it is cloudy her by me and with all the lights from a developed area not sure what i would have seen if sky was clear. Hopefully some of you get to see this weather event.

Have a good night.

               Good morning ER's,
It's 61* and clear here on my hill. ::)
Zcm..........Just think of the $$$ going in your 401K, you'll like it at retirement time. :flex:
H2l...........Maybe today you can get out, it looks nice for it.
Steve........Brace yourself, another heatwave is on it's way.
Eddie........I hope the concrete pour went well.
Marv.........Hopefully you hear from your friend and he wants the job.
Wally........Same to you and Mr. WW today looks like a good day to go out.
I-45.........I hope the test results come back OK? ???
Fish.........I hope you can get the trails opened up before hunting season.
Well...The wood is finally finished, it feels good. The logger said there would be approximately 7 cords, I enednd up with 6.4 cords, Close enough.
But I still need to get another cord to make it through the winter.
So today, I'm taking my wife out on the toon as I promised when the wood is done.
I hope everyone has a good Friday either at work or out. Stay Safe and Healthy.

Old Goat, Hope you have a good day.

Good morning everyone

62 climbing to 74 with off and on showers throughout the day.

mr.clean.. I knew you were kidding ;D I was just happy to help.

IW...Have an enjoyable time on the toon.

45...Safe travels bringing your wife to work

I see WW in the hallway....Morning!

I heard back from my buddy about the tree job. He gave me a price for taking the trees down and I passed it on to the owner. I am sure he has to think about it because there is a price change between my working for him and going through my buddy's company with big equipment and insurance down in the jungle. I am good whichever way he decides.

I got side tracked yesterday so will be getting a couple errands done this morning.

Hope everyone has a good Friday  Stay safe and keep healthy.

57* and clear. We got about 20 minutes of rain yesterday.
IW, good to hear that the wood is about done. Enjoy the pontoon ride, going to be nice.
I have to go for blood work again this morning. My fault, I didn't take the prescription that the eye Dr. gave me with me the last time.

Good Morning Everyone,
64* and sunny on the Hill, warming up to mid 80’s today.

H2..best wishes with the blood work this morning!
Marv…good luck with the tree job estimate, hopefully a nice commission will be heading your way soon!
I-45…hope your vehicle is ready today, imagine you’re anxious to get back in its saddle again and tryout that new tranny..best of luck!
OG..have you been taking anymore of the Casinos $$ lately?
Jeff…way to go wiping out the rest of the logs!  :flex:  Have a great day out on the toon with your wife, beautiful weather for it today!
Steve…I was hoping to get a few hours in with Kennidy on the ice last season but it just didn’t happen…that will be a priority this coming season.   ;D   Keeping the fingers crossed the polio virus stays under control.
Wally…thank you!     Funny how those turkeys just showed up all of a sudden, they must have been hanging out downwind of the bakery!   ;D
FH4/Z…hope you fellas have a good wrap to the week today!

Yesterday’s pour went pretty well, couple hiccups but we got through them, lol. One of the laborer’s didn’t show which wouldn’t have been too bad if the concrete truck could reach everything, but that wasn’t the case, lol. The ground on one area was fresh fill and not a chance of getting the truck in there…so about 4yds. of concrete had to be wheelbarrowed in first. At least it was cool out first thing in the morning!   ;D
Not much on the planner yet today, might be heading to a fair this evening locally…Cawfee’s still hot!
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!

Good Evening Everyone, Waiting for my wife. Still without the Jeep. Waiting for a new cross member for the transmission. Apparently someone had welded it on and cut holes in the frame. Should be there Monday.

WallyWorld, That pie looks delicious.

MasonEddie, Hope you had fun at the fair. Did you take the grandkids with you?

Whopper Stopper, its ok to get distracted. Hope your errands went well.

Hunts2long, Hope your blood work went well today.

Mr Clean, I think I had a polio shot as a child.

I hope everyone had a great day and has a great rest of the evening.

Good evening, not sure what today's high temperature was but felt warmer then Thursday and the humidity level has increased. Never did see any Northern Lights last night sky to cloudy.
Ice Wanderer may whatever lake you launched the pontoon boat on not have been to crowded with other boats and hope the two of you had a nice day on the water. Congratulations on fishing processing the wood pile and only being a little over half a cord from the logger's total.
Old goat may you and the family have a nice weekend.
Icefisher-45 to bad you are still waiting on the Jeep may the new cross member arrive as scheduled on Monday and the shop have no issues installing it so you can get your vehicle back.
Whopper Stopper may the property owner except your friend's estimate for the tree work  and you get to help him or receive a finders commission for the job.
Hunts2long may all have gone well with the blood work and the results show no problems for you.
Eddie may things work out this ice fishing season and you get Kennidy out for one or more fishing trips. Good to read you only had a minor problem with the concrete pour.
Zcm-82 sadly many folks retirement plans are suffering at this time may we see a rebound in the stock market and country's economy soon so all of us can get back to some level of normality in our respective lives.
Wallyworld the number of school age children who have received the Polio vaccine in Rockland is below the NY. state average and a concern for the CDC.state and local health department. The Covid pandemic has not helped things and even before the pandemic there was a growing resistance to vaccines among many parents Good looking pie enjoy eating it.

I saw in my local newspaper today that former first lady Rosalyn Carter celebrated her 95 Th birthday yesterday,Her husband Former President Jimmy  Carter is now 97 and the have been married for 76 years. may the two of them continue to enjoy good health.
May everyone have a good and safe weekend.

Good morning everyone

62 degrees heading for 76 with scattered showers.

Dave..Do you have a hoarse throat from all the cheering yet ;D

mr.clean.. I read the same story about the Carters. What a run the two of them have had.

IW..Did you give the sunfish another go off the toon?

h2l..Hope the blood work all came back good results

Eddie..If you made it to the Fair I hope a fun time was had by all

WW.. The pies looked awesome

45..Hope they can get the Jeep done without any other issues

I was in the garage puttering with the wood splitter. I am planning on heading to the shack Tomorrow or Monday for a couple days. I have a bunch of wood to split and and want to work on a couple trails that have down trees on them and need some brushing out. It looks like the first part of the week should be in the low 80's with sunshine.

Hope you all have a good Saturday  Stay safe and keep healthy.

WW, I am sure I am too late for the pie, it sure looked good.

IW, glad the boat ride went well, Odie seems to be enjoying it.

The blood work I had done last week all came back good, the one yesterday was just for the eye doctor.

Eddie, hope you got to the fair, going to be "warm" the next couple days. The lake is dropping pretty fast, the launch may be an issue for me in another week or so.

Well ended the week good and got to visit with a buddy for a little while and then headed over to a concert the wife was selling stuff at and it did not go as well as she hoped but got to listen to music and the kiddos got to play. Well making some breakfast cake with peaches underneath and then hopefully headed to the lake after bit, windows are open with fresh air blowing through the house at around 60 degrees nice morning so far.   Wally…we need Scott to install the “ smellavisiion “ app…that pie looks amazing!!    Have a safe ride today if you’re out on an ice cream run!

I took a pass on the fair last evening and hung out with my 4 legged family members, lol, just wasn’t up for all the walking etc.  Admission this year was $22 and entitled you to unlimited rides whether you wanted them or not, lol.
My wife and some of the family meet up there and had a good time, stayed until closing. That gave me plenty of time to catch up on a bunch of cucumbers I pulled yesterday and make 6 quarts of bread & bread pickles to store for the Fall/winter…win, win!   ;D
Couple of errands to get out of the way before the heat rolls in…Cawfee’s still on if anyone needs a refill.
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!

Morning Wally, FH4…see you both posted as I was pecking away!

Good evening, higher temperatures and humidity have come back to my area. I did have about a thirty minute rain shower in the early afternoon thankful for that as my area can use the moisture. Some type of celebration going on earlier between 8:30 and 9 PM could hear fire works being set off.
Whopper Stopper may you have a safe trip to the shack and no problems transporting the wood splitter. Best wished for you in clearing the trails and processing the downed tress into fire wood.
Icefisher-45  I hope you wife has a day off coming soon working a late shift and then having to go back to work the next morning takes it's toll on your body. Did you ever get the AC unit installed sounds like you may need it to help get through this round of higher temperatures.
Ice Wanderer glad you had a few nice hours out on the pontoon boat. Odie seems to be enjoying himself. may all have gone well with whatever work you and the neighbor boss did today.
Hunts2long good to hear your blood work report showed no issues. It looks like low water levels are causing problems across the United States and around the world.
Wallyworld guess we all have to wait for the next appearance of the Northern Lights visible for those of us in Northern U.S. and hope for a clear night. Have fun watching the turkeys.
Fish/hunt4ever may your wife have better sales at the next farmer's market or any other event she attends to sell her products. If you made it to the lake i hope the fish were actively feeding. Is the breakfast cake you made this morning some type of upside down cake.
Eddie thank you for the link makes one wonder what all is hidden below the water's surface at the rivers and lakes, oceans of our world. Good to read your wife and some other family members enjoyed the fair.  Enjoy the pickles when they are ready to consume.

Any of you who own Apple I-phones,I-pads and Mac computers may want to research this and contact Apple's customer support. Article in my local newspaper today there is some flaw in these products which can enable hackers to get complete conrol of your devices. Like most of us are not stressed by world events already. Always something. ::)
Have a good Sunday. keep healthy and safe.
 Steve

                Good morning ER's,
It's 63* and clear here on my hill. Another warm one today. ::)
Eddie........You definitely need to come up to Lake George this coming winter for some ice time, Ill take you to a couple of
favorite spots. :flex: I saw that article about the WWll ships, but my wife saw how Lake Mead out west has revealed some bodies with
                 the lower levels.  :o
H2l...........I'm glad to read that your blood work came back with positive readings. Doesn't GSL generally drop at
                 this time of year? ???
Wally........Is that next years firewood in the background of the pictures? ???
I-45.........Hopefully the shop can get a cross member and installed tomorrow.
Marv........I hope all is going well at "The Shack"? ???
Fish.........I would think a concert would be a good place for your wife to sell her wares :o Hopefully you caught some fish.
Yesterday's work was at the cabin in the morning, the casing around the door had to be sanded and painted which I did and my neighbor
did some touch up on the logs. Then at noon we went to Trout Lake and mowed two lawns. Then back to the cabin to give the door casing another
coat of paint. Then we loaded up all the tools and other things we used for the job to bring home. No work today.
My wife is going to her mother's today in Vermont for a few days.
I hope everyone has a good Sunday either at work or out. Stay Safe and Healthy.

63* with a few clouds which should burn off.

Eddie, there were a few tree tops sticking up the last time I was out. They are trees that wash out during the Spring and get hung up on the bottom. My jigs usually find them before they show themselves. Someone tired plastic bottles to them.

IW, usually the lake doesn't really start to drop fast until after Labor Day. Right now it is about 3 feet below where it should be for this time of year.

I have to go and do a couple loads of laundry this morning. The high speed spin cycle stopped working on mine. It is 23 years old and we are in the process of getting one of the bedrooms converted   to a laundry room so I don't have to go up and down stairs all the time. We never planned on getting "this" old when we moved here.

Have a good day and stay well...h2l
