Danger thin ice on bay
« on: Feb 28, 2010, 12:01 PM »
Last night i witnessed someone fall trough on their way back in to the boat launch.. heading out of the mouth of the saginaw river when you reach the island on the east side there is a big patch of slush ice which is really thin ice and open water at night you wont see it it about 50-60 yards off the island it is marked by a stick standing straight up so use caution when traveling that way

Just a little more info. The ice at hooters on the saginaw river is unsafe. A guy I know fell through all the way to his armpits. Thank god he caught himself. He could have been a gonner. Be safe guys a fish is not worth dying for.
