Hello to all.....

Glad to be back for another season on ice shanty.....I want to wish everyone the very best, and to be safe.  Just heard of 3 guys in Warsaw on 2 inches of ice, so please be safe.

There are places with 2" of ice in the warsaw area. However the ice is not real strong. One wack with the spud and I was through it. I only made it 2 steps on the ice before heading back to land.  Not strong enough for me! Checked several different early ice places and results were the same.

Has to be junk snow ice if one whack went thru 2 inches of ice.  The weather man screwed us again as the cold they were saying was coming has disappeared.

It looks like b this next week, will or should make some pretty good ice I would think, but I will keep an update around the fort Wayne area

Where is all this cold ass weather they were talking about a week ago? I am not too optomistic looking looking at the extended forecast.

Exactly...I am about tired of these worthless weather forecasters. 4 days over 40 starting next Saturday. Looks like another up and down winter.

I made a good drive around yesterday to some of my usual haunts.  Mostly open water yet,  I had hoped to see more ice but it appears we are a ways out yet.  I would guess a week or two yet (assuming we get some cold air, and the wind lays)  even though I was hoping for sooner.

The ponds here on the Southside of Fort Wayne are just bad, with 4 inches everywhere, but pure junk

We are sunk, was on ice today and surprised how bad it was.
