Participated in an Ice Rescue simulation 11/11/03 on White Potato Lake (NE WI). Went out 100 yards and needed a pick ax to get throught the ice, about 4". Had lotta rain since then but still got the itch!!

Had a cold front come through here as well. However only a skim layer of ice formed. Doesnt matter though i am still jealous!!!!!!

Ive actually seen signs of freezing water this morning. Temps have been real cold, with teens at night, I think we should have fishable ice by Xmas!

Not to shabby, found a protected bay had 5 inches! Thats open water in the right hand corner of the top pic

Nice and cold again tonight that should seal the whole lake hopefully! Mrs iceshanty and I are going to hit it tomorrow night for some tasty walleyes

I chipped out some holes with my trusty Mille lacs spud. If you want a good ice chipper/spud the mille lacs rules... a bit pricey but worth it. It can chip nearly 8" of ice in one slam, make a normal chipper look useless.

We only managed to land one small northern pike.

Just great to be out on the ice.

the north east corner of Irondequoit Bay gets more ice every morning when I drive by. PLEEEEEEZE stay cold with no rain.

Watch that NE corner...That's where I went through a couple of years back. There's springs out from the Bayside.
