If you get confused by all this information , just remember, any auger, hand , gas, propane or battery will drill that hole! Seen and tried them all, working with a Mikwaukee 2407, Ice Kicker 2 combo and loving it. Strike master auger.

Jiffy Mille Lac's chisel works pretty great for up to 12" of ice... just saying.

I have an Eskimo P1 Rocket auger. Its fast, powerful and runs great. Cons its heavy and have to keep tanks warm. I have never had any issues with it, maintenance is just an oil change no big deal. That being said if I was currently in the market for an auger it would definitely be electric.

I use a Jiffy 4 propane auger and love it.  Other than the weight, it has never failed me.
