Since not much safe ice, lets talk beer
« on: Jan 19, 2012, 11:58 PM »
What's your favorite?  I know a lot of guys, myself included, don't drink on the ice, but some do.  What's your favorite on or off the ice?  Mine is a tie between Hopp Slam by Bells Brewery and Turbo Dog by Abita Brewery.

That HopSlam has some bite to it.

I generally drink Keystone, but my favorite is Bells Oberon when available on draft.

And you can't be a a crown or Jack 'n' Diet
There is only one theory about angling in which I have perfect confidence, and this is that the two words, least appropriate to any statement, about it, are the words "always" and "never."

I have always been pretty peticular on what beer I drink on the ice but I guess my favorite would be Budweiser or Bud Light or Strohs or Keystone or Coors Light or Miller or a shot of Crown Royal maybe some Tequilla or coffee with a shot of Jack or Wild Turkey in it.

On the ice Bud Light in a can..easy to smash up and take trash home. At the "Stead" Alaskan Amber or Modelo..obviously depending on the mood.  If you can find Paulaner drafted somewhere I would recommend that highly...they have it at Lakeview in Culver..mmmm

I drink anything I make, although I never have drank on the ice before.  I make porters, stouts, ipa's, ale's, Just like ice fishing it's another hobby.  Although with brewing beer you never get skunked.

They won't let me drink on the ice anymore. There may or may not be several reasons for this. When off its jack, miller lite and sam adams.

Mine is a tie between Hopp Slam by Bells Brewery and Turbo Dog by Abita Brewery.

I haven't picked up any Hopp Slam yet but am looking to. My favorite is Two Hearted Ale from Bells. Can't go wrong with just about anything from Sierra Nevada either.

Although with brewing beer you never get skunked.

That is not always true, unfortunately. I have had some bad batches before. But, just like trying to find the right fishing spot, beer making is trial and error.

Gotta love the Bells Oberon. Went to college right down the road from the brewery and became addicted. But to save some money gotta go with Miller Lite

Busch Light cans in the pack, (sometimes with a handwarmer thrown in to keep from freezing) and Hiram Walker Peppermint Schnapps in the flask.  COME ON ICE!!!!

Although I usually stick with Coor's, Miller and Budweiser products, I am going to give a thumbs up to a buddy of mine that brew's his own.  Each batch is a little different from the previous one which allows some variety.  Only trouble is he only is able to brew a couple batches a year, but it sure is awesome!  As a matter of fact, I'm going to give him a call today and check on his inventory.  :)
