Closest thing I have to a ritual is selecting the t-shirt I'm going to wear that day. It's always one of many I've collected from our local fishing site over the years.

On first ice, I thump my way out with the Spud and thank the Fish Gods for the start of another ice fishing season !

I always throw my really small fish down my partners hole or in a 2nd hold nearby..

The night before I always stop by the packedge store and grab an 18 to bring with me.

One tip up in less than 8 feet of water, my second in 12-18 feet of water and one as deep as I can get where I am fishing. If I dont get a flag in the first 2 hours I go out and raise the bait up about a foot. Then one every couple of hours I chop the ice out of the holes and check the minnows, it gets them moving more. I also have to have a nice hot tom and jerry while waiting for a flag.
