So, who's your go to for your waxies and spikes? Ja-Da Bait, Vados, Speedy Worm, or somewhere else?
I'm in Nebraska, and that might affect shipping and condition of the end product.

Been ordering bulk from Ja-Da Bait for some years, I live in PA never had issues with shipping or quality of product they give reasonable explanation on how to keep Waxies maggots alive. I can dig Ja-Da bait.

PetSmart and other pet shops sell waxies, nightcrawlers, meal worms etc as reptile food.
-
I like VADOS, nice people and good service.

I used Ja-Da Bait last year and was very happy with them. Good prices and healthy waxies. Definitely cheaper than repeatedly buying 50 packs at the bait store or pet stores near me.

Vados doesn't give a shipping cost until you order, which seems antiquated to say the least. Anyone know about what it would cost in shipping to get a bag of 1,000 spikes from Vados? The price for the bait itself is nice.

I believe you have to call them to get a price for shipping, and if I remember right it was really spendy, for me at least.

I like JaDa the best..tried speedy worm and they just didn't last. Have had better luck with JaDa. Will last me the season.

Theres been a bulk shortage of waxworms last few winters here.imo. i have thought of starting a huge waxworm farm here...say 5000 square ft facility.

Ive used Jada and Knutson’s multiple times and have had no issues. I get a bunch of both. I just don’t have the patience to chase bait in smaller amounts at the few places that sell bait near home so I probably overpay by $30-$40 a season to have enough for the entire season shipped to me. Lasts all season if you double bag the spikes and keep em at 33-35. Mealies I keep near the windows in the basement. $6 Fridge thermometer pays for itself.

Used speedy worm for spikes last year and had no complaints. Spikes lasted for weeks on end. Wax worms I just buy locally.

Been ordering from ja-da for years. No complaints. Shipping is included in the listing price, bait shows up alive and well, and it lasts a long time when you follow their storage recommendations.
Only real downside is that they don’t have any color variety, but for the quality, I’m fine with it.

My spikes from www.bestbait.com are still going strong. They came all the way to Maine. I ordered standard USPS, it took 4 days and there were only a couple casters (pupa) in the bag when they arrived. They put a cold pack in the package with the spikes so they stay cold. They came in a zip lock bag. They included a blue container with holes in it to separate what you intend to use fishing. And keep the rest double bagged in zip lock bags around 33-35 degrees.

I ordered 1000 maggots and 250 wax worms this past Monday from Vados. Had them Wednesday, shipping was $12. No local bait shop carries multicolored maggots in my area so a friend and I split the order. I live in Central Iowa
