How thick does the ice have to be before people should feel safe driving on it? I was at lake Maloney yesterday the ice was around 10" to 11". I drove down a boat ramp and on to the ice about 30 foot out with a 4x4 Ranger and everything seemed fine. what do you think?

Are you sure there arn't any springs, weed patches, etc.? 12" would be bare minimum in my book!

Yea, I probably will wait until I see some other vehicles out there cause its just not worth it to loose a truck.

Just for your infomation it is unlawful to drive any car or truck on state water in Nebraska. You can use a atv or snowmobile on certain lakes. Check your fishing guide book or call your local C.O. to see what is legal in your area. Gerald

What can you do in Nebraska? I have heard no beer in boats or campgrounds?
I was raised in Nebraska but it sounds like they are getting quite strict. What is their reason for no vehicles on ice?

It is technically is illegal but people do drive trucks on that lake. I wish I had a ATV maybe next season.
