Jaw Jackers
« on: Nov 12, 2018, 12:32 PM »
Anyone know where you can buy some of these? It seems like either they are out of business or took the year off from making them. Even their website says sold out and no stores seem to have them available.

Thanks!

Not sure it will help, but I saw them on the shelf in the Colorado Springs Bass Pro. Maybe they have them online?

I check their site every day. In the last three months they've been in stock maybe four days? I'm waiting for the next time so I can pick up two or three.

It looks like Field and Stream has them.  I tried to post a link, but couldn't get it to
 work.

I have seen some people make their own out of PVC, might be an idea until you can get your hands on one.  I am hoping that they will have some at the St Paul Ice Show, because I am waiting for one as well.

The Sportsmans Warehouse here in Twin Falls, ID has probably 10 on the shelves. And even has a couple of the new motor/jig set ups. I wonder if the website is showing sold out because they are trying to keep stores stocked?

You realize, of course, that if you run out of purchase options you can just make one.
We're born, we live for a while, and then we die.  Sounds like a good reason to go ice fishing.

For $89.00 plus tax for a Jigging Jawjacker, I think I’ll stick to doing it the old way! >:(

the jigging jaw jacker is expensive and ill be buying one this year. my experience with jaw jackers trout fishing last year was phenomenal. having a jigging jaw jacker will allow me to have a jigging line next to every set line, especially on lakes where you can have 6 lines per person. the old one two combo of a set line and jigging line.

Should just make your own. It is fun to do and they work great. Here is my latest I made. Shows the trigger. Which can be adjusted for lighter bites. The string can be adjusted for longer or shorter rods. The line goes over the end of the hook on the end of the trigger.

I thought about getting one as well but what turned me away is that you need a dedicated rod for it as there rod tip loop.  It'll be nice to have it as a dead stick but then when you want to use it for jigging you need to either remove the loop or just bring an extra rod.

The loop doesn't really get in the way, you can certainly use it jigging if you wanted to.  Love my Jaw Jacker and it makes a great rod holder if I'm not using it for it's intended purpose.

I agree I have 2 "dedicated" rods i tie a loop with 30lb mono or use the loops that come with the jaw jacker... you can fish them normal without the JJ no problem

Many on the shelves at Cabela’s here in Ontario. A word about their customer service. I emailed them 2 days ago about a trigger assembly that I lost last year and they are sending me a new one as we speak. Glad they stand behind their product!

I have made 4 of my own out of PVC board and some stainless steel hardware and stainless wire for the trigger assembly. Took a little time but it still cost way less than an off the shelf JJ and they work awesome! I will try to post some pics of them if I get a chance later

I’d be getting those if it weren’t for the crazy shipping fee from ALaska. I’m looking to build my own this winter, I don’t like how the jaw jackets keep the rods loaded. I know fiberglass rods can take the abuse, but Im just not a fan. Plus I’d only use these for certain target species, I usually like to set the hook myself.

They are all I use for self setters anymore.
They are 100x better than the jaw jacker.
I don't even bother to take my jaw jacker out any more. I'm thinking I'll give it to my friends kid.
The Salmon Bear works with any rod and won't damage your rod like a jaw jacker can.
It way more heavy duty and only a bit heavier and bulkier.

I think you will absolutely love the Jawjacker. Matt is a great guy who stand behind his products. In the up coming weeks they will be arriving at several stores. The jawjacker base is something that I will be adding to my collection this year. This base will alow me to jig with one jawjacker and deadstick with another. and as we all know sometimes the fish want movement and sometimes they don't, The best of both worlds.
