Idaho trip ideas
« on: Dec 05, 2019, 01:12 PM »
I hit Henry’s this last weekend, and now I can’t think of anything but ice, so to help distract me from counting the minutes until I can walk on water again, I figured it’d be fun to discuss our plans this season.

Personally, I’ve got a hit list of lakes I don’t normally fish, or that I haven’t done well on, and I’m going to do my best to learn how to approach them through the ice. For example: Lamont reservoir. I fished it a few times this past summer and learned a lot about the lake itself, and now it’s time to apply that knowledge to ice fishing, and chase some crappie and bluegills that, given past observation, probably don’t get much pressure through the winter.

What’s your plan this season?

My plans include Mackay and Twin Lakes for certain. Magic and American Falls if things go well there. Maybe Salmon Falls if it freezes up but its not high on my list so it would just be a quick pop down there if i suddenly have time. After that it will just depend on the season and how things firm up.
