With the 2022 ice season upon us, what's your preferred type/brand of tip up? I use a pretty mixed bag, personally.

My heritage lakers are my best all around tip ups. I have a couple jack traps but  I longer use them. They're super high quality, traps though. I use Polars and some old 40s when I take the kiddos for panfish, bass, etc.

The only ones I run these days are the Classic Wood Frabills. They hold a lot of line, easy to relube, super smooth, and I’ve never had an issue with them freezing up. Nice tall flag too. With a homemade hole cover they’re the best option I’ve found.

My 30-year-old lakers are still going strong, I have added a nice drag system to the spools and reflective tape, but expect to be using them for another 30 years...
