i have a strikemaster mag 2000 and i cant keep it running right... i had it running ok last winter but wasnt reliable at all... now after sitting in storage the thing pulls really hard, it never pulled easy to begin with but i think its worse than last year... what do you think i need to do to get her running nice?

i only paid 80 bucks for it from a pawn shop and it was missing its pull cord, im beginning to think the cord snapped because it pulls over so hard and the previous owner got sick of it and pawned it off... please tell me if a bought a lemon auger! around here its 60 bucks plus parts to get it taken in somewhere.. im sure i could get a hundred for it right now and use the 60+ bucks i would waste on tuning to just buy a new one if i really, really need to.

Bad recoil assembly....clutch engaging...scored cylinder walls....seized bearing..slighty bent crank...best to have a physical look see.  ;)2

There is No recommendation in the manual to open the gearbox and re grease it, if you have decided to do it even if it isn't recommended, make sure you buy the correct gear box Gasket first, because it will tear during removel and you have to replace it !

The spring on the recoil of my Jiffy 60 let go.  Looks like the pin holding the spring broke.

Where might I get parts to fix it?  I'll start an internet search.
Stay safe  ....    Tom

Only thing I'd add to the OP is that the stabilizer should have an ethanol neutralizer.  That stuff eats aluminum, rubber, plastic, etc.

Also, rev the piss out of it once in a while to clear the carbon buildups.
