X67c vs. Showdown
« on: Nov 30, 2010, 07:12 PM »
I'm going to buy my first ice fishing fish finder. I really like the x67c but the Showdown looks like it is just as useful. I was hoping I could get some input for the guys on here. Thanks!

I own a Marcum LX3, and I'll tell you that the Showdown isn't in the same neighborhood as the Lowrance X67. I've been on the ice with my group of friends and I've seen The Vex's, Marcums, Showdown X67, M68 ......... The Marcum and the X67 would be my two choices. The Showdown was returned for a Vex and my buddies love their X67's. It's does too much for the money for it not to be the choice. I'm thinking about getting one as a second flasher.

I agree, the X67c is the best value going. The new ones have a better screen and better soft pack/case, the older ones can be found for $150 used.

Well I didn't go with either one. After talking to Mike at Reed's he suggested the Humminbird 345c. The bird had a lot of features that the X67c didn't. It will be here Wed. so I will have to play around and post what I find. Should be on the ice within the next two weeks!!
 Thanks for all the input!

is the 345c a fishfinder type or the flasher type sonar? Appreciate it if you let us know how it works for ya. Good luck & tight lines!

It has the ability to be both a flasher and a graph like the X67c. I hope to be on the hard water in two weeks!!

I bought the 385 and will be using it in a couple weeks over X-mas break.  I'll post my thoughts after.  I also got the lakemaster chip for it which I can wait to check out.
