I'm sure we have not lost any as yet. Bass Lake had around 10 inches Saturday evening and was bitterly cold the next day and a half after that.  Snow on top might become a sloppy mess.

I was at bass until late afternoon yesterday.  No damage had been done when we left. 8.5" where I was. Been more of a mist/freezing rain all night and today so far. Maxi had 5" last Thursday off boat launch. Don't know about anywhere else on maxi. Checked lawrence and mill pond last Wednesday,  about 3" on both. That's all I got. Lots of rain coming and I'm not showing Temps below freezing until Sunday night. Probably go quick.

Let's keep this thread going. If you've been out recently, please report how thick and where at.

Lotta guys including myself are probably wondering if it's worth it to try and make it out this weekend, and a thickness report here could save a drive... maybe even a life.

Either way, everyone should be taking necessary safety precaution if you're going to try for it this weekend.

I wasn’t there, and I don’t know how thick ice is- but I was told earlier today ( Thursday), that 2 people were on the Union lake, which is located near 1-70 and sr 3 .

Ice thickness. can be deceiving, watch out for honeycombed ice. 7 inches has given away on a lot of us fishermen. I am sure all who go out and must get that last outing in before being done for the season. Please use all necessary safety precautions. BE SAFE.

Lk George (Steuben County) -- 7" of solid ice out in the lake but the first 3 feet of shoreline ice was falling apart today.
