Quantum hot sauce should do the trick.  A drop or two on the tracker bar should loosen it up and keep it loose for the rest of the season.

WD-40 would probably help quite a bit too.  No doubt that the Quantum Hot Sauce would be ideal but WD-40 might do the trick as it doesn't freeze and will shed moisture.

Not only will WD-40 keep it from freezin, it can "drip" onto your rig, then you'll catch more fish!

I bought an antique baitcaster ice rod at a pawn shop in Arlee.  The thing must have been at least 50 years old.  I bought an old-school Penn reel, like the #9, but smaller, the smallest one they made.  It never once froze up, not even in below zero temps.  You could try one of those.  They are pretty cheap.

You could also try Frabil Sub-Zero.

Why wouldn't you use Frabul sub-zero. I put inside all my reels and i forgot a rod and reel on the ice last year and when i got back to it the next day all was fine other than the eye lets were froze. good stuff!!

Sub-Zero works good.  I use it on my tip-ups and Shimano reels.
