No reply now may result in no one giving a rat's crack about anything he posts in the future.

Hope it wasn't a "charity grab", where you post a sob story to evoke the charity of others, when in fact, your story is a complete lie!

It was a tragedy, someone took my auger...anyone have a spare propane model, 8 inch and two sets of spare blades?  I might lose my Buddy heater next week so that would be nice too. ::)

Funny how being cynical can be fun... ;D

hate to think the worst of people..but until clam says something...can't help but to think this may be some sob story....I truly hope it isn't....cause like I've said before...ice fishers are some of the kindest people you'd meet in your whole life....but I have been a little skeptical of losses in the past.. just doesn't add up....be real people..i could see getting jacked if you left your gear in the back of your truck while you went into the store....why would anyone leave $1600 worth of gear for any amount of time.....I really hope i'm wrong....if its random freaky crime...I will be the first to apologize...if it was left overnite..i'll be like..dude...what did you expect would happen...and if its a scam....i'd be so sad.....

I'm guessing he's already back with a different profile....
Mouth, yeah that's what we are talking about. Big deal about getting gear stolen and then All of a sudden he gets it back somehow without an explanation. Dudes were just curious how he got it back but now he's kinda rubbing guys the wrong way a lil...
Sounds like a catfish story to me too.

Wow!

I guess a guy cant go to work for a few days without checking in on Ice Shanty!

Through networking I was able to recover my gear.  I had told a friend about my misfortune.  Exactly two weeks later she talked to her cousin.  Turned out that he had found the ice house.  She gave him my number and he texted me.  I drove an hour and all my gear was there.  I gave the gentleman my best ice pole setup.

PS:  I did not receive any gear from any member of the ice shanty.  Even know they were kind enough to lend or give me everything I would have needed.

My tail gate will come down.  I have 2 bungee cord affixed to the tail gate in case it ever opens.  Guess they were not good enough when a guy drives like an .  I have been all over to all sorts of lakes with my tail gate in this condition and never had a problem.

I will give more details.

I had a sheriff look at the video footage from a local grocery store.  He said I was parked out of view of the security cameras.  This did not sit well with me.  I contacted the store manager a week later and got her to look at the video closer and she was able to tell me that the ice house was not in the back of my pick up when I pulled in.  The previous store I visited said that the video was clear and no one approached my pickup.  So I know the man did not steal my gear.  I was very lucky to get my stuff back, no game here.
