Swede bore vs Finbore
« on: Jan 22, 2022, 07:55 PM »
This might be a dumb question, but are the blades for the 2 types interchangeable. I have good blades on my manual Finbore that I would like to switch over my Swedebore that I have set up with my drill. They look a bit different but I don' t  know if that diff is important---TIA

Try it....if TBE holes line up for the blades.....it should work.

Looks to me like the Swedesbor uses mora blades. Strikemaster Lazer blades fit my 2 Finbore augers. Mora of Sweden has been making the lazer augers for years and used to make the Mora augers years ago, before they went to China.

Mora is still made in Finland I think. They still make genuine replacemnt blades. Basspro, much to my disappointment se;lls cheaper Chines knock-offs.

Do you have pictures?

In the past, I have even took a flat blade shaved and bought a kit of eBay so it could use laser blades and turned it into a laser auger.

Rapala/VMC acquired Mora of Sweden. Rapala/VMC is headquartered in Finland but that does not mean the augers are made there.

I had a Swede bore years ago, if I remember correctly, the blades are not curved like those on my Fin bores.
