Has anyone been out on the ice or checked out the ice after the storm (2/7)? Im planning on going out tomorrow but Im not sure if the ice is safe. Thanks

I just tried to spud a hole at splitrock, and 10 wacks I’m not through. crap white ice but it’s making ice right now. Shorelines shot but I could get on. I’d just say proceed with caution, know what you are doing.

out on lake hopatcong today. all the spots i tried had 6-7". ice is soft to drill. lots of cracking noise 1 pickeral , 1perch by indian island.

i was on Areoflex today. Didn't go too far from ramp but lots of people were out in various places. Ice was 4 inches where I drilled. Surface got wetter as time went on.

i would be very cautious fishing in nj after this rain. i'm going north to upstate ny.

Was fishing on lake Hopatcong this morning, sperry springs had 7-8"

really short season...what a shame...
back in  the 80's  we used to fish to april...those were the good ole  days

Lotta stuff I used to do in the 80's I can't do anymore! Glad for the season we had and looking to expand the expectations great 2019! Actually dragged my sled from the pole barn into the basement this afternoon, what a bummer!
